More Information

Think of all the fun of a traditional twin... Now think of the benefits of modern design, plus the glide and performance of the Twin+Stabilizer format. The Fiend’s outline has the wider “modern fish” nose for cheat and a wide point center* that transitions into a somewhat narrow wing swallow. The wing-swallow creates a “break” in the outline behind the fin and helps create response and bite. The nose rocker is medium to low to make catching waves easy. A light single concave transitions into a double concave with vee out the tail provides easy glide and pivot. It has a shortboard-esque forgiving rail which allows the rail to penetrate the water giving it plenty of hold. This helps to counter the usual loose “squirrelly” feel associated with older corky twin fins. Add together the slight beak, soft forgiving rails, and effortless glide to make for a responsive carvy modern version of the twin fin.

The Fiend can make a great addition to a quiver as a go-to for less than ideal conditions or even make for a great everyday board if you like hybrids instead of shortboards.

For a higher performing version of the Fiend check out the Fiend-X

* Note that as of Sept 2022 we moved the wide point toward center rail to increase performance; the wide point used to be up 1 inch but surfed a little too “long”.
