More Information
The Channel Islands Remix Pro is a high-performance pro-team model custom-developed by shaper Britt Merrick. It is not a standard, mass-produced stock model found on retail racks; instead, it is a specialized tuning of the original Remix concept built explicitly for elite team riders—most notably WSL powerhouse Joao Chianca and powerhouse goofy-foot Bobby Martinez.
The Remix Pro elevates this by integrating the modern rail, foil, and rocker developments of Channel Islands' "Pro" family (similar to the design language seen in the CI Pro and 2.Pro) but maintaining the slightly wider outline footprint of the Remix.
- Aggressive Tail Rocker: The standout feature of the Remix lineage is its massive tail rocker. Britt Merrick designed it with more tail kick than almost anything else in the CI catalog. This extreme curve prevents a wider tail template from "tracking" or drawing straight lines, allowing the board to pivot on a dime and snap tightly in the pocket.
- Balanced Entry: It retains a functional nose rocker that allows for critical pocket surfing and late drops without pushing too much water.
- Glass-on Fin Preference: Many of the authentic team iterations (like those shaped for Bobby Martinez) feature traditional, heavy-duty glass-on fin setups—specifically glass-on quads—coupled with robust team glassing (such as a 4S/4 layout). This gives the board maximum drive, zero fin-box flex, and the dampening required for massive power surfing.
