The Puffer Fish was born from the idea of blending easy wave-catching with high-performance responsiveness. I set out to design an extra-wide, full round-nose fish — but with very foiled, thinned-out shortboard-style rails for added sensitivity and control.
This board paddles like a dream and excels in mushy, weaker conditions, but thanks to the refined rails and foiled tail, it still holds strong and releases beautifully in more powerful surf. It’s fast, responsive, and fun — no matter what the wave offers.
While most traditional keel-finned fish designs rely on thickness for float and drive, the Puffer Fish takes a different route. A single to double concave runs through the bottom, flowing into a vee off the last two feet of the tail. This bottom contour gives it lift, speed, and smooth rail-to-rail transitions
