The Firewire Gamma is a high-performance shortboard developed under Kelly Slater's direction and one of the defining shapes in the Slater Designs lineup. Built for surfers who want speed, drive, and precision, the Gamma is designed to perform when the waves have some push and the conditions call for a more responsive board.
The narrow outline flows into a pulled-in pintail, giving the board control and hold through steeper sections while allowing plenty of drive off the back foot. A continuous rocker works naturally in more critical waves, while the refined rails and domed deck keep the board feeling responsive and controlled through turns.
The bottom features single concave through the front of the board that transitions into double concave toward the tail. This combination helps create speed and responsiveness underfoot, particularly when accelerating through turns and driving off the fins.
The Gamma Helium construction adds a lightweight, lively feel to the design.
