More Information
The Uber Grom is an ideal step-up board for young surfers who are moving beyond foam boards or oversized beginner setups but aren’t quite ready for a high-performance shortboard. Designed to match the rider’s height and skill level, it’s a great option for building confidence and control — and can be sized down as groms grow and improve.
When to ride it: The Uber Grom shines in crowded lineups and smaller surf, making everyday sessions more enjoyable and progression more natural. In areas with consistently weak waves, it’s even a solid choice for advanced young surfers. Some of our top-level groms rely on it as their go-to grovel board in poor conditions — though it performs well in surf ranging from 2 to 6 feet.
What it is: A kid-sized version of the popular Uber Driver model, the Uber Grom delivers the same user-friendly paddle power and rideability that made its adult counterparts favorites — but tailored for youth. With a fuller outline, lower entry rocker, and generous volume, it helps developing surfers build skills without being too twitchy or technical. A pronounced tail kick and subtle bump/wing in the outline keep the board lively and responsive, offering a larger sweet spot for learning how to carve real turns.
