More Information

The Lost Lazy Boy (LayZboy) surfboard. It creeps up on all of us. We spend our youth charging around, bucking the system and causing chaos. Surf all day, and party all night and to hell with the consequences. But then responsibility and to some degree, conformity takes hold and tames our wild ways. Time in the surf diminishes, waist sizes expand and life settles in. So, when you do get in the water, the last thing you want is to be sat up-to your armpits on a board with not enough volume, that you can barely paddle let alone compete for waves. Precious time in the 'drink' should be fun, easy and all about catching waves. It should reduce not add to your life's stresses. To make the most of these hard-earned and precious sessions, Lost bring you the 'Domesticated Series': Generous volume boards, fine-tuned for fun in your free-time. Minimalistic curves and design elements that allow you to use and control that extra volume to your advantage, both in the line up, and more importantly, on the wave face, translating into a higher wave count without sacrificing surfing performance. This is what The Domestic Series is all about, good times, fun and easy. The Lazy Boy (LayZboy) is a continuation and break away from the Plank/Uber Plank/Bottom Feeder style of alternative, fun yet performance minded, surfboards. The LayZboy takes these high volume/low rocker and neutral bottom curves small wave surfboard designs to a much wider range of waves and a more versatile and diverse playing field. Using an elliptical, 'double ender' style outline, the LayZboy is inspired by the boards ridden by legends like Wayne Lynch and Michael Peterson in the 1970's, as well as Dave Parmenter in the 80's and 90's. These elliptical, continuous curve, outlines combined with our minimal proven rocker and bottom curves from the Bottom Feeder and Plank series, create a board that has a very forgiving sweet spot (as far as foot placement goes) and can be ridden in waves from knee high to well over head with comfort. Because of the narrow hipped, continuous curve, elliptical outlines, you can surf this with a 70's style 'centered stance' for down the line speed runs, down carves and cuttys. Or step back on the tail and get the LB vertical off the bottom and tuck it in the pocket. The bottom contours (pretty much flat rail to rail, with rolled, soft edges and a spiral vee under the rear foot) neutralize the high volume and loosen the board up, making it easy to push and bury the rail deep and perpendicular into the face of wave. This board paddles like a dream, you're not 'pushing' any water so it paddles fast and enters the wave early, giving you more time and more waves.
