GodSpd
This Model was developed for Jake Schoonover’s need for a board that goes well in South OC waves. For his type of surfing the board needs the “get up and go” for instant speed and also needs to “pop” for the airs. We knew that we would get the “get up and go” necessary by making the board a Twin fin. Using the rocker from the Awsum.oh! 2.0 model we then tweaked the concaves a touch in the back half of the board and added a double concave to a slight Vee out the tail. For the outline we did a shortboard nose with a little extra width into a wing swallow tail. We chose a swallow tail to increase the planing surface in the last part of the tail which gives extra lift versus a pin tail. The shallow swallow also gives some bite and pivot for control. We did a few prototypes moving the wing around and ended up with it just to the side/back part of the fin. This seemed to pull the tail in sooner and provide more control for the twin all the while still providing some pivot. The GodSpd also has a slightly flatter deck into a blended beveled rail. We found an upright twin fin template worked best in this model. Jake rides 5’7 x 19.38” x 2.29” = 27.6 L and favors the Elmore Twin Fin by Captain Fin
